It seems that every month now, different parts of L.A. are on fire. But this current wildfire is probably one of the worst in decades since so many homes were destroyed.

So...as I drive down to work this morning, I'm in the left lane. Now, I'm not going ridiculously fast as I usually do, but I am still going about 75. This car behind me hi-beams me several times. First thing that comes to my mind is there are two lanes all the way on the right side that are completely open. If he thinks I'm going too slow, than just take those lanes and go around, but he kept flashing them hi-beams at me, so I got pissed and started going 50 in the fast lane just to annoy this guy. Finally, some cars get in the other lanes and I just go slow enough so that I'm in line with all the other cars in all the other lanes, so he has to wait on me. I do this for about 3 or 4 miles until he finally backs up and shuts off them hi-beams. Grrrrr, people like that piss me off!

This is an interesting article I found. Some archaeologists in Italy found these two skeletons buried together, who were in love...

Eternal embrace? Couple still hugging 5,000 years on Tue Feb 6, 1:28 PM ET

ROME (Reuters) - Call it the eternal embrace.

Archaeologists in Italy have discovered a couple buried 5,000 to 6,000 years ago, hugging each other. "It's an extraordinary case," said Elena Menotti, who led the team on their dig near the northern city of Mantova. "There has not been a double burial found in the Neolithic period, much less two people hugging -- and they really are hugging." Menotti said she believed the two, almost certainly a man and a woman although that needs to be confirmed, died young because their teeth were mostly intact and not worn down.

"I must say that when we discovered it, we all became very excited. I've been doing this job for 25 years. I've done digs at Pompeii, all the famous sites," she told Reuters. "But I've never been so moved because this is the discovery of something special." A laboratory will now try to determine the couple's age at the time of death and how long they had been buried.

Man bets wife in card game, loses

Wednesday, January 31, 2007

A man lost his wife in a game of cards after putting her up as a stake instead of cash.

Andrei Karpov from Murmansk had run out of money in a game of poker and offered his opponent his wife instead of cash to stay in the game. When he lost the game and his opponent Sergey Brodov turned up to claim his winnings his wife Tatiana was so angry she decided to divorce her husband and started a relationship with Brodov.

She has since married Brodov, and said she does not regret leaving her first husband. She said: 'It was humiliating and I was utterly ashamed. But as soon as my ex-husband did that I knew I had to leave him. 'Sergey was a very handsome, charming man and I am very happy with him, even if he did "win" me in a poker game.'

It should not be 27 degrees! Not in L.A.! Brrrr! I'm not use to this..and that isn't even taking the wind chill factor into account. I had to wear 3 layers of clothing to work this morning, including a heavy jacket and I was still freezing.

Being sick sucks! I caught a flu (I think) and have been having pretty bad symptoms since yesterday. It got so bad that when I got home I measured myself and I had a fever that was 102 degrees. Needless to say I won't be going to work tommorrow. On the bright side, Becca has been tending my needs! :) Thanks doll! Love ya!

Becca and I will be going to the Lakers game tonight for my bday, versus the Hornets. :P
I've been looking forward to this game for awhile. I certainly hope Kobe plays. I don't want him to be injured on the one game that I finally see live.

So on my previous trip to Jiffy Lube, they tell me I need a new air filter. I tell them, "No, I don't want a new air filter," because I know that I just changed it a few weeks earlier. So I let it be. Now, I go to Jiffy Lube last night. To the same location, with the exact same workers and they tell me, "The air filter is just fine. All Clean." Now that's just wrong. Just trying to make a quick buck by cheating people. On one instance (about a year ago) I remember, we just changed the air filter the day before, and they come to us and show us this dirty air filter and tell us, "Look, you need a new one." I go, "No, I don't." They find some dirty old air filter from some other car and try to make me buy a new one.

Dang, all these places just try to cheat you so badly....sigh....

I know this is kinda pointless, but eh, why not post something.

So anyways, I was in the parking lot of the Washington Mutual here and i noticed this H2 hummer parked across from me. Now sure, those are everywhere these days, but this one was different, it was completely PINK! I'm not even talking regular pink. Like BRIGHT PINK! Even the rims were pink. the bumper was pink. and the licenseplate said something like: "APINKH2"....okay..that was pointless.. :P
